Classification of Brushable Polyurea

Brushable polyurea can be classified into two main categories based on its product form: single-component polyurea and two-component polyurea.

Single-component polyurea is easy to apply — ready for use straight from the container without the need for on-site mixing. It is suitable for projects with lower application requirements. However, it typically contains a small amount of solvent, which makes it less environmentally friendly and therefore more appropriate for outdoor use.

In contrast, two-component polyurea involves mixing components A and B at a specified ratio on-site. This type of polyurea is solvent-free, with a solid content close to 100%, offering significant environmental benefits and superior coating performance. It is especially well-suited for projects requiring strict environmental standards or long-term weather-resistant protection.

According to formulation structure, brushable polyurea can also be divided into aromatic polyurea and aliphatic polyurea.

Aromatic polyurea is cost-effective and provides stable performance, making it suitable for applications where the coating is not directly exposed to sunlight or where appearance and color retention are not critical.

Aliphatic polyurea, on the other hand, offers excellent UV resistance, maintaining its color and appearance even under prolonged sun exposure. It is ideal for surfaces such as exterior walls, rooftops, and equipment exteriors where long-term aesthetic and color stability are required.
