Why Should the B Component Be Stirred Before Use?

Before application, the B component of polyurea materials must be thoroughly stirred using a dedicated pneumatic mixer — with high-speed stirring for at least 30 minutes, followed by continuous low-speed agitation during the spraying process. This is because the B component contains pigment pastes, which tend to settle over time. Different pigments may settle at different rates depending on their properties and storage duration.

It’s important not to overlook this step just because some polyurea systems may appear to spray normally without stirring. Skipping proper mixing can lead to serious quality issues in the final coating.

Additionally, since polyurea raw materials are solvent-free and relatively high in viscosity, pigment sedimentation cannot be effectively dispersed by simply rolling the drum or relying on low-speed stirring alone. Strictly following the correct mixing procedures is essential to ensure uniform material quality and to prevent coating defects or project failures.
