spray polyurea, brushable polyurea, pure polyurea, clear polyurea, cold polyurea, viscosity damping material factory
It is well known that spray-applied polyurea, due to its extremely fast reaction speed, can cure even when applied on ice or water surfaces. But when it comes to real-world construction, does this mean polyurea can be safely applied on damp substrates without issues?
While polyurea can indeed cure on wet or icy surfaces, its adhesion to damp substrates is generally poor. Although moisture-tolerant primers can improve adhesion, any residual moisture in the substrate may later evaporate as water vapor when exposed to sunlight and heat, potentially leading to blistering or delamination of the coating.
Therefore, although polyurea may still cure on a damp surface, it poses significant risks. It is strongly recommended to follow standard guidelines and wait until the substrate is fully dry before applying polyurea coatings.
Qingdao Polyswell is focusing on the research and development, production and sales of polyurea technology. We will always hold your back. If you have any questions about polyurea technology, please feel free to contact us.
