What Is Polyaspartic Polyurea?

Polyaspartic polyurea is a two-component, slow-reacting, high-performance aliphatic polyurea system. The A-component typically uses HDI trimer, while the B-component consists of polyaspartic esters. Polyaspartic esters have relatively low viscosity, and the gel time can be adjusted from 5 to 120 minutes, allowing working times from 5 minutes up to 2 hours. Due to the slower reaction rate, the cured coating tends to have fewer surface bubbles, and the formulation system offers great flexibility.

Being an aliphatic system, polyaspartic polyurea has excellent UV resistance, long-lasting gloss, and stable color. The solid content can range from 70% to 100%, and it is suitable for brush or roller application. Compared to spray application, it results in less material waste.
