Why does the spray polyurea in the cold water storage tank always bulge and crack?

Recently, many customers have reported that they always encounter bulging and cracking problems when spraying polyurea in cold water storage tanks. Polyurea technology is characterized by simple construction, but when problems arise, it is very troublesome to repair them.

There are three main reasons for bulging: first, there is moisture in the substrate; second, there is unevaporated solvent in the substrate treatment system; and third, the spray polyurea material is not mixed well, which leads to bulging. The cracking of the spray polyurea layer is mainly because when the material strength is not high, the foam substrate surface expands and contracts, causing the material to crack, or when rigid putty is used, the cracking of the putty causes the cracking of the polyurea; this requires the spray polyurea material itself to have a higher design strength and good temperature and humidity stability.

To address this problem, our company has developed JHSW- 8512 , a two-component solvent-free base treatment material for foam substrates. It has high construction efficiency, good hole sealing effect, and is insensitive to temperature and humidity. JHSW 8601 elastic waterproof polyurea material has also shown excellent stability when constructed in underground environments with high humidity such as cold water storage tanks, solving the pain points of polyurea construction in cold water storage tanks and has been well received by customers.
